Attendance, PTO, and Break Policies

Overview

This document outlines attendance, paid time off (PTO), and break expectations to ensure consistency and alignment across the team. These guidelines apply to all eFlorist Support team members and are based on The Wonderful Company policies.

Paid Time Off (PTO) Guidelines

  • All PTO requests must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance.
  • A maximum of two people may be approved for scheduled PTO on the same day.
  • Team members must review the team calendar before submitting a PTO request to avoid conflicts.
  • Unpaid time off is not permitted unless there is an approved extenuating circumstance.
Note: PTO approvals are dependent on team coverage needs and adherence to these guidelines.

Breaks and Personal Time

Team members are expected to follow their assigned schedules for breaks and lunches.

Daily Break Allowances

  • Two 15-minute breaks per day.
  • One lunch break per day, either 30 minutes or 1 hour, depending on your schedule.
  • 15 minutes of personal time per day. This includes any time spent away from your workstation for personal matters.

Break and Lunch Expectations

  • Break and lunch times must be taken as scheduled.
  • Any break or lunch that will exceed the allotted time must be approved in advance by a member of the leadership team.
Tip: Staying within scheduled break times helps ensure consistent coverage for our florists.

Attendance Expectations

  • Team members must be at their workstation and ready to work at the start of their scheduled shift.
  • Excessive tardiness may result in disciplinary action in accordance with company policy.
  • Being prepared and on time is essential to maintaining service levels.

Reporting Absences Due to Illness

If you are unwell and unable to work your scheduled shift, you must notify the full leadership team by email as soon as possible. This ensures proper coverage and uninterrupted service for florists.

The notification must include:

  • Teresa Sufczynski, Senior Manager, eFlorist
  • Felix Kinsey, Key Accounts Manager
  • Ashley Hart, eFlorist Team Mentor
Warning: Failing to notify the full leadership team may impact coverage planning and service continuity.

Commitment to Health and Service

Leadership strongly supports team member health and well-being and encourages prioritizing it when needed. At the same time, adherence to attendance and time-off policies is critical to maintaining the high level of customer service our florists rely on.
