Site Skinny for Standard Templates

Overview

Ask the florist which products or categories should stay available during the days leading up to the holiday. You may need to adjust the skinny code, so the right elements still display.

Also confirm whether any email campaigns scheduled for the rest of the holiday should be turned off.

💡

Create a follow-up ticket under your name for the date the florist wants the site restored. Do not ask the florist to call back. It is our responsibility to track the reversal, and florists often forget. Include detailed, step-by-step notes so anyone can complete the reversal without guessing.

💡

Until further notice, do not add a product order block as part of a site skinny unless the florist specifically requests it. We are working on an enhancement to simplify the product block portion and reduce the chance of errors.

Product Order Blocks

Use order blocks to prevent ordering products the florist does not want to sell leading up to the holiday.

Path:

More → Order Blocks

Steps

  1. Click Add New Closure
  1. Enter a closure reason that includes your username
  1. Set start date and resume date
  1. Block In-Store Pickups should be ON unless the florist wants pickup only
  1. Select Block Selected Products
  1. Add a customer-facing message explaining why the product cannot be ordered
  1. Click Select All
  1. Uncheck the products they do want to sell for the holiday
  1. Save and test on site

Always display a message so customers understand why the product is unavailable.

Example Message

This product is not available for delivery until May 15, 2023.
